Ch Halcyon I Rest My CaseA/C Ch Lynbary's Ode to Cachet X Ch Halcyon Gilding the Lily, OFA, CGCMarch, 2000 - July, 2007 May you rest easy and always have lots of toys. . . I
was not planning on keeping a male from my Buddy - Gilda litter, but
when Casey opened his eyes and looked at me with that sweet face, there
was no chance he was leaving. He looked at me with that sweet
expression for over 7 years and I
feel very blessed that he made me laugh and smile his whole
life.
I was so lucky to have him and so very sad to lose him. We
never have them with us as long as we should, and decades would not have been long enough for me to have Casey.
As a young dog he could be mishievious (like when he tried to pull on Tina Starr's skirt in the show ring while getting his first major in Florida, or when he learned to open gates and doors), but he was always a good boy. He was shown by Debbie and Erin Struff and Tina Starr, and finished his champion title with 4 majors. He always showed well and seemed to enjoy the attention, but his real love was home with me and his four-legged family. My life and the house is very quiet and lonesome without him. His sisters, Diva and Sophie, look for him everywhere, and I can imagine him in all his favorite places (usually right next to me). Casey has sired some beautiful puppies and he has made others very happy with their Casey sons and daughters. He was working on obtaining his therapy certification, as I'm sure he would have enjoyed visiting in care centers and hospitals. He was always such a kind, friendly soul and loved everyone. He was quite simply a wonderful, beautiful dog.
Casey
showed like the champion that he was, passed all his heart, hips,
and thyroid exams, and never had a sick day until the last month of his
too-short life. I will miss him more than words can say and will
see him in all his favorite places, carrying his ever-present toy
around. He was a friend to everyone. . .
